Sukayu Onsen ('Onsen' means 'Spa' 'Hot springs')
We went to Sukayu Spa. It's located 50km from downtown Aomori. This hot springs was found about 300 years ago and there are 3 baths, a mixed bath, a men's bath and a women's bath. The biggest one called "bath for 1,000 people" is very popular and it is made completely of Japanese cypress, and it is mixed bathing.
There are more than 3000 hot spring resorts in Japan, and the number keeps growing gradually each year. Because there are more than 26000 hot springs all over the country and most Japanes people love hot springs! |
