Cookes Thatch Bar
Newcastle Road,Galway
My friends and I went to a pub called Cookes. It seemed to be more like a restarant than a pub. There were some candles and lamp shades and I thought there would be a romantic atmosphere at night. I ordered Bacon & Cabbage. It was some bacon and boiled cabbage and it was served with a mountain of mashed potato, two boiled jacket potatoes and lots of chips. However potatoes are cooked the taste never changes. Potatoes are potatoes!! Something about eating potatoes is the same every time, even if they change the method of preparation. I can eat anything else, but not potatoes...

MUETY RABBITT'S
Forster Street,Galway
This pub is near Galway station. I heard that its very popular with locals as well as with visitors.

O'CONNELL'S
Eyre square,Galway
I entered a small pub because I had some time while waiting time for a bus. There was a rack along the left side with lots of bottles in it, and on the right side there was a long seat. A counter was in front of the rack. There were just 2 regular customers, one was an old man who was reading a newspaper at the counter, the other was a man wearing a sweather. I drank Guinness and stayed there for a hour just relaxing. There was comfortable air and I felt easy. I hope to have a chance to relax like that during daily life in Japan.
