Chinese restaurant "Din Tai Fung"
Is the most famous restaurant for its steamed dumpling. It was popular for tourists, especially Japanese. I heard that there was always a crowd inside and people were standing in a long line in front of the restaurant. So we had expected long lines. However, we got a table easily because we went there for an early evening dinner at 4pm!

The most well-known kinds of steamed dumpling, steamed pork dumplings. Dumplings were filled with minced meat and excellent hot soup.

The staff member told us how to eat the dumplings. The popular way to eat them is to gently hold the top of the dumplings with chopsticks and put onto a spoon, and eat with shredded ginger in a special sauce( say sauce with vinegar ). The dumpling skin was very delicate so you have to handle with care. Of course, you have to mind the hot soup!

Inside the restaurant, you can see through a window into the kitchen and watch the chefs preparing the many kinds of dumplings and steaming them.

We ordered 6 steamer baskets of steamed dumplings(each basket has 10 pieces), a bowl of fried rice with eggs, a noodle in hot soup with beef, of course, two bottles of beer. We couldn't eat them all and we asked for a box to go. The leftovers would be a midnight snack for WD....
