Wellington is the capital of New Zealand but it isn't bigger than Auckland. It was small enough to walk around on foot.

I saw these strange buses. I heard that they are called trolleybuses and they run by power lines. Wellington is the only city which provides a trolleybus as a public service in New Zealand.

I saw many Toyota cars and the Toyota's showrooms were everywhere in New Zealand.

It had been very wet and windy while I had been there. And the temperature varied greatly from day to day. Sometimes, people were walking with a winter coat and I could see my breath in the cold air. I heard that it was unusually cold for this time of year....

Embassy Theater
Was built in 1924 and it is an old historical theater. It was across the street from my accommodation. This is the place where the last movie of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was made for its world debut in 2003. Before the showing, Peter Jackson and the casts held a parade from here to the parliament building in the city. More than 200 thousand fans crowded along the street! I wish I could have gone to see it....
