View of Hokianga Harbor from the hill
Hokianga Harbor is located on the Northland's west coast and it took about 10 minutes by car from Waipoua Forest. We enjoyed a wonderful view of the Tasman Sea and the mouth of Hokianga Harbor. Across the Harbor you can see a huge sand hill. I heard that you can do sandboarding there all year round.

Arai te Uru Heritage Walk
We got out of the car and we took a stroll along the walkway between bushy trees.

This walkway led out to the southern head of the Hokianga Harbor. It was just a five minute walk to the head. It was a fine day and Tasman Sea was unbelievably blue. I got a little excited when I thought that there was nothing between us and Australia but the sea. How far away was it from here to Australia?
right:
The hill of the north head, the opposite shore, had a massive sand hill. Why does the only one-side has sand?

We drove across the Northland and headed for the eastern coast.
left, rignt:
A vehicle with horses was driving in front of us. It's an unusual sight in Japan.

Local Burger King
We stopped at the burger shop on the way back to Auckland. When I got out of the car, I felt like I was standing on shakey ground. It must be because we drove a long distance. For the past one week at Auckland, I joined sightseeing tours almost every day. So I was tired of moving.... In addition to this, I got tired thinking about the long flight back to Japan the next day.

Indicator for mileage
I did lots of these miles. How long for, I'm not sure!
