ベルギー旅行

After taking a short lunch break, I started to hike again.

The trail that continues from the Gourmet trail is almost all downhill and an easy hiking trail with a nice view of the Matterhorn. But on the way the trail leads through a shady forest and many trees shut out the view. The final third of the trail is surrounded by trees and you can't see anything, so it's quite boring.

When you cross the railway tracks of the Gornergrat railway, the hiking trail which I followed up until now finished and became a normal pathway.

By the way, the Gornergrat railway is a cog railway and it uses a system called the Abt-system railway to run up and down steep hills. There is a difference between a standard railroad and a cog railroad. A cog railway has a rail that looks like the teeth of a cog in addition to the usual two parallel rails. If you look carefully at the rails of the Gornergrat railway, you can see its distinctive cog rail.

I went back to the town from visiting the 4 lakes and I headed to the Furi gondola station. Again, I started to hiking toward the town of Zermatt.

It was an easy 40 minute hike. A hamlet, Zum See, is situated between Furi and the town of Zermatt. There is a nice restaurant and I recommend it to everyone!

At last, I went back to my hotel. I treated myself with my favorite Swiss beer, Feldschloesschen! It has a well-balanced taste with some body and is similar to German beer in some ways.

Oh, I'm so exhausted! My body feels really heavy. I need to get myself another glass of beer, as my energy drink!!

I said I walked a lot, but if you were curious about the distances recorded on my pedometer, they looked a little bit like this
First day for hike(clear, but cloudy later): 21,003 steps(10.5km)
2nd day for hike(rain): 6,527 steps(3.2km)
3rd day for hike(sunny): 28,825 steps(14.4km)
4th day for hike(sunny): 32,869 steps(16.4km)
