After checking-in at my hotel, I headed for King Ludwigs palace "Herreninsel". The palace Herreninsel is situated on the island by the same name "Herreninsel".
First, I went to the harbor for the ferry to the islands. There is a busy beach on the way to the ferry harbor from my hotel and I thought for a moment about going swimming in the lake. But soon I threw out the idea because I realized that I hadn't waxed for a long time!

The harbor to the islands is a short ten minute walk from my accommodation. The parking lot at the ferry harbor was huge! There were many sightseeing buses and I fully appreciated that Prien an Chiemsee is an extremely popular tourist attraction.

The Chiemsee lake is Bavaria's largest lake with nearly 80 square kilometers. The lake has three islands and the biggest one is called "Herreninsel". There is a ferry connection to the islands in the lake and other harbors on the main land. Don't miss to getting off at the Herreninsel island ferry stop!

As a piece of advice, if you don't have enough information about a ferry connection, I recommend you take these brochures at the ticket window.

There weren't many people in the cabin because ....

Most people were on the narrow open deck and they were enjoying the scorching sun! Just as I expected, non-Japanese tourists have nerves of steel! It was still the same.
