The weather was still really bad but I ventured out to the Koenigssee, which is a beautiful lake in Berchtesgaden.
Koenigssee is just about 4km from the town center and you can take a bus to the lake at the station.

The Koenigssee is a lake located in the German Alps and it is a famous tourist spot.

An excursion boat trip is a popular activity at the lake. A round-trip ticket to St.Bartholomae, which is a famous church on the shore of the lake, is 12.8 euro.

It stopped raining when our boat set out from the pier.
I wished the sun would come out....

Though the weather was bad, there were quite a few more tourists than I expected on our boat.

Only electrical boats, rowboats and pedal boats, have been permitted on the lake since 1909.
For this reason, you will not even hear any motor noises and the excursion boat sails on the lake in complete silence.
The most popular highlight of the excursion is a trumpet performance played by a staff member on the boat. During the trip, the boat stops on the lake and a trumpet is played for the tourists to enjoy its beautiful echo. It's said that the echo will return several times.

It takes about 30 minutes from the pier to St.Bartholomae. I hear that St.Bartholomae is a famous pilgrimage church with a small accomodation nearby. The white church, which is in front of a rugged mountain, looked very beautiful.
