St.Bartholomae is featured on lots of photos and paintings and most people get off at this pier.
There is another pier called "Salet" up ahead. It is at the end of the lake and from here to Salet it takes another 20 minutes one way.
There is a huge beer garden, a beer restaurant and a small fish restaurant. I had plans to enjoy a beer at the beautiful beer garden but the weather was still bad! I was always unlucky in Berchtesgaden.
Of course, the beer restaurant is operated by Hofbrauhaus beer brewery.
Koenigssee was formed by glaciers during the last ice age and it is Germany's third deepest lake.
It is well known for its clear water and it is famous as the most beautiful lake in Germany.
It was unbelievably transparent!
After taking a scenic walk, I went back to the pier.
On the way back from St.Bartholomae, you can see a tiny place called "Kessel" on your right. It is a starting point for hikers going into the mountains around the lake. Just thinking about hiking on the rugged high mountains, made me tired....I really hate any things wearisome, like trekking, hiking, jogging and running a marathon!
Some day, I hope to be back there when it is a nice sunny day!
