Our hotel has an Irish restaurant on the ground floor and you can eat wonderful breakfast there. Unfortunately I had no chance to visit there at night because I stayed just one night. It was really too bad.

As the last night's weather report stated, it was a beautiful sunny day without a cloud in the sky since morning. I was going to have another sickly-hot day!

Rudesheim is very famous as a German wine region.

However you can see lots of delivery vehicles for beer in the morning. It was very German!

The Niederwalddenkmal is a monument located in the park which is on top of the hill in Rudesheim and it is one of the local tourist attractions. A gondola lift takes visitors up to the park.

Beautiful vineyards spread out between the gondola stations and looking ahead at the landscape you will see a high monument.

The Niederwalddenkmal was built to commemorate the foundation of the German Empire after the end of the war in 1870 between France and Germany. The monument is a 38 meter high structure and the statue is the 10.5 meter tall Germania. The Germania is a personification of the German Nation or the Germans as a whole.

The park is a good place to look over Rudesheim. You can get wonderful views of the old town of Rudesheim and the Rhein river.

I walked around Rudesheim during the morning and then I moved to Wiesbaden. I stayed at Rudesheim just one night. Rudesheim is a very tiny town and an overnight trip is enough to stroll through the town.
It takes about 35 minutes from Rudesheim to Wiesbaden by local train. But, on that day when I headed to Wiesbaden, the local train was not running, probably due to routine maintenance checks, so I had to get on a local bus instead. I had been out of luck since yesterday!
