I went to Zurich by way of Frankfurt in the same way I'd traveled to Zurich last year. Just as I'd done last year, I purchased a rail-bus pass at the travel agency close to the busy ticket window.
I had lots of experience. When I go to Tokyo station I'm always confused and lost. I wander around like a clueless foreign tourist. However I felt very accomplished here in Zurich!
I stayed at Hotel Arlette Beim close to the main train station. The Arlette's official website had said that they provide easy access to the Zurich main station, ONLY 200m away.
"Easy access to xxxx!"
"Just a few-minute walk from xxxx!"
I never believe such promotional statements about a good location. However, amazingly, what they said was correct. Even more surprising, the map which was provided by the website was correct, too!!
Hotel Arlette Beim was perfectly located near the train station and was just a 3-minute walk away.
The first dinner of my trip was a canned beer and a bagel sandwich. It was after 3:00 a.m. Japan time and it was not time for a heavy dinner.
Every time I travel to Europe, the first day of my arrival is very hard....
I'm taken back to my most memorable experience, which was taking a Finnish sauna with beer on the first day of my arrival in Finland. It was 4:00 a.m. Japan time and my heart was pounding so hard that I felt like I was having a heart attack!
