We took a taxi from the station to our accommodation. Our hotel was situated on the hill in the old town and as you can see, it was along this cobbled alley.

Hotel Rathausgloeckel
It consists of two buildings: a three-storied blue building and a two-storied beige building. There is a hotel reception in the blue one with guest rooms from the 2nd floor and up. The beige building is a local restaurant and there is a historical wine cellar and bar in the basement with a unique atmosphere.
This pink building in the foreground of the blue building was the hotel which I had stayed at before. During my last trip, I'd had dinner at Rathausgloeckel restaurant. It was a great restaurant with a friendly atmosphere to enjoy dinner . So I had been keeping it in mind. As I had expected, Rathausgloeckel was a wonderful hotel.

I heard that it was built in the 16th century and it was fully renovated in 2009. But there isn't an elevator, no self-locking doors and no air-conditioner. However every part of the building was always kept tidy and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. So I felt at home! Hotel Rathausgloeckel is really a hidden jewel. If I go back to Baden-Baden, I really want to stay here again!...except in midsummer.

Only a fan was available. I wonder how high the temperature in the 3rd floor rooms of the hotel reach during the midsummer heat!

The breakfast was a great buffet. As expected, it was a typical Geaman style breakfast and it was satisfactory.
