Germany to Japan

Going down the stairs beside the hotel, you can get to the shopping area easily. It was my second visit to Baden-Baden so I never got lost in the maze-like old town.

The town was enormously lush with vegetation and there were lots of flowers on the streets. There were many outside tables with people who had a delighted looks on their faces. They made the town look completely different from the town I experienced in winter 2008.

There were lots of curious signs along the streets.

A water bowl for dogs was next to a fountain.
"Was it just plain water or spring water for treatment?"
"Is spring water good for dogs?"
Anyway, it would be an unusual sight in Japan.

Again, we ate Asian food!

We drank "Bitburger".
It is a well-known Pils(Pilsner) in Europe and it is a local beer in the west part of Germany. I heard that Japanese beer was modeled after "Bitburger".
It tastes a little bit dry and I think it'll work well with everything, including Japanese cuisine.

Right next to the shopping area, you will find this charming path for a stroll.

Compare these side-by-side images. They are two very different impressions of this scenery.

Trinkhalle
Is a tourist attraction. The 90-meter arcade is lined with 14 frescos depicting legends about Baden-Baden.

Trinkhalle was built as a place to drink hot spring water for treatment in the 19th century, and even today healing spring water is served to visitors for free. The taste was so bad that I wouldn't try it again even if you give me some money.
