After wandering around the market, we headed for the Rhine river. On our way to the Rhine we saw this landlocked ship. I wasn't sure what it was. I didn't know anything about Duesseldorf except its famous local beer!

The Rhine
The Rhine runs a few minutes walk away from the old town. It was a wonderful place to go for a stroll.
Sightseeing boats are available.

There are plenty of cafes and bars on the banks of the river. It looks to be a perfect place to drink beer during a hot summer day.

Some cafes were decorated with lots of national flags. Much to my delight, there were Japanese flags too. I wonder if it is because of the world cup.

I hate graffiti! When I visit tourist spots in foreign countries, I'm often disappointed with terrible graffiti-covered tourist attraction. However this small graffiti, only 15 centimeters square, was very cute so I laughed in spite of myself....
