Daniel
I recommend climbing the tower "Daniel" for a great view of the crater.

All I did was walking up the endless stairs....

9.65m, 21.00m, 35.60m....

I dragged myself up stairs.

41.20m, 47.05m, 55.00m....

60.35m....
I huffed and puffed up stairs and I went up ahead.

Who expected a high-tech toilet would be on the top of such a medieval tower?

"Daniel" has a friendly towerman at the highest storey.
Towermen during the Middle Ages served as a night watch. These days, the towerman charges visitors a fee for an access to the viewing platform of the tower!

The viewing platform offers a panorama of the medieval town and the surrounding countryside.

The old town surrounded by the town wall is about 1 km in diameter so it is small enough to get around on foot. However if you want to visit the rim of the crater, you will definitely need a car. Noerdlingen is located in the center of the crater but the actual crater is 25km in diameter!

In the Middle Ages a towerman was keeping watch the town from here. Today, the tower is a great spot to look for a nice looking cafe!!
