After some good exercise, climing 350 steps, I refreshed myself with a cold beer.

A pig, pig, pig...you will notice that there are lots of pig-shaped objects everywhere!
Legend has it that a long time ago, Noerdlingen was attacked by an enemy at night. But pigs ran out of the town through a gate which the enemy opened and people noticed the nighttime attack before it happened.
As a result, the pigs prevented the enemy from entering the walled town. Maybe, a pig is a symbol of luck in this town.
My guidebooks didn't say much about Noerdlingen, so I don't know a real reason for the pig-shaped objects throughout the town....

Another popular tourist attraction is the well-preserved medieval town wall. This town is one of only three towns in Germany that still has a well-preserved town wall, the other two are Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbuehl.

It is possible to walk on the town wall. It is 3km of walkway. It is free of charge!

Beautiful houses with red-tiled roofs and wonderful spots with a real medieval feel. Walking on the town wall is a great tourist activity!
