I think that the main reason for visiting Berchtesgaden is to see the Eagle's Nest.
It sits on the rugged ridge of one of the highest German mountains. The views from the ridge were breathtaking!
The only problem for me was that the building was under repair! I couldn't understand why this famous tourist attraction was being repaired during a peak summer travel season!
Here is the beer garden with wonderful views!
When I went back down to the bus station, everything was so clear. I could see the main building on top of the cliff from there.
I enjoyed the wonderful mountain scenery and I returned to the town.
I wandered around the town center and I found a huge eagle-shaped statue.
Its appearance was very powerful and it was a perfect object for Berchtesgaden. But, the eagles I had actually seen around the Eagle's Nest were very poor and they looked more like a crow than an eagle....
I was really tired of eating out! A "Pretzel"(German bread) and a sandwich were my dinner. I ate this simple dinner while watching a depressing weather forecast. Apparently it was going to rain again the following day.
