Domplatz
Is a popular tourist spot in Bamberg. There is Bamberg's Cathedral, Alte Hofhaltung(Old Palace) and the Neue Residenz(New Residence).

If you visit Bamberg during summer, I recommend you go to the New Residence. There is a romantic French rose garden in the courtyard. The moment you enter the court yard, you will step into another world.

The last time I visited there(2008), it was the wrong time of the year. It was winter and there were just lots of stems. The most I could do was to imagine how colorful and fragrant this garden would be when the flowers were in full bloom....

The garden also offers a beautiful view overlooking the red rooftops of Bamberg and Michaelsberg(St.Michael's church) standing on the hill.

St.Michaels Church is a short distance away from the rose garden and in addition it stands on the top of a very high hill overlooking the town. It looked as if it would be difficult for me to get there. However I decided to go to the church because I needed to make a room for the next beer!

I was covered with sweat by the end of the climb up the slope leading to the church!

The hill on which the church stands is higher than the hill on which the Domplatz is located. From the church's property, you can enjoy a wonderful stunning view of Bamberg.

St.Michaels Church
Is a 12th century church and it is part of a monastery. The huge building was constructed in Romanesque style and it looks very nice.

I got tired from walking and I went back downtown. I felt someone's eyes on me and I sort of looked up. There was a teddy bear at the first floor window looking down on me!! I'm sure I must be totally exhausted.

Ambraeusianum
Ambraeusianum is one of the 10 breweries which is introduced in the booklet "Brewery Trail".
It is the youngest and smallest brewery in Bamberg. Its brewing equipments is in the restaurant. If you are lucky you can see the first stage of the beer brewing process right in front of you!

It was an unfiltered beer, pale-gold in color. The beer and food were both very nice.
