As you can see, my breackfast became very simple. I didn't want to eat anything like a ham, sausage or cheese for a while. I felt like I had eaten a year's worth of hams and sausages during this trip!

Mainz is a modern German city but the old part of the city still has the atmosphere of a traditional German town.
This Augustinerstrase(Augustiner street) used to be a main street in Mainz. It is now a nice place to take a leisurely walk.

Walking down the street, you will see Augustinerkirche(St. Augustine's). Its baroque appearance stood out from the other buildings. It was a small church, but inside of the building was packed with beautiful sculptures.

Mainzer Dom(Mainz Cathedral) is one of the three famous German cathedrals, along with Koeln Cathedral and Trierer Dom.
Formally, the cathedral is known as St. Martin Cathedral in English. It's located in the heart of Mainz and it is a popular tourist sight. But again, I was disappointed by a German tourist attraction. Mainz Cathedral was under restoration to its exterior!! The beautiful cathedral was covered with scaffolding....
There are two great museums inside of the building. All descriptions about the exhibits were in German so if you don't understand German you will be required to use your imagination.

I used my mind against the exhibits in the museums and I got pretty tired. At times like this, there was nothing like a cold beer! I drank Koenig Pilsener. It is a German local beer around the area of Duisburg.

After refreshing my head with the great beer, I headed to Gutenberg Museum. It is located opposite Mainz Cathedral.
Gutenberg Museum is one of the oldest museums of printing in the world and it attracts experts and tourists from everywhere. The museum is full of a variety of exhbits about printing. If you take a serious look at them, you will take at least half a day to see every exhibit.
Most of the exhibits have an English description and at first I really enjoyed those interesting items. But, soon I got defeated by the vast amounts of items...I just felt like I was having a field trip to the museum.

I went to a Thai restaurant for dinner. My last dinner of 2010's German trip was Thai food! By the way, I really love Thai food, as you can tell by my website. But I haven't been to Thailand yet!
