kittila Airport
I arrived at Kittila Airport, which was the nearest airport to Levi. Levi was located in the north part of Finland and it was within the Arctic Circle! I arrived in the Arctic Circle for the first time in my life. Just as I thought, it was very cold for the beginning of December.

There was a bus connection from the airport to Levi, which was the most popular ski resort in Finland. When I finally got on a bus to Levi, it was after 6p.m. It was 11p.m. in Japanese local time! It was a long way to come from Japan....

Center of Levi
Was located 15km from the airport and it was only a 10 minute drive. Levi looked like quite a small town. However, there were lots of bright lights on the ski slope and Christmas illuminations, so it had a resortlike atmosphere.
