I stayed at Rovaniemi for 6 nights and I moved to Mikkeli, which was located in about 170km north of Helsinki. First, I headed for Rovaniemi Airport in the early morning. The Rovaniemi Airport was an air gateway for Lapland. It was crowded though it was early morning and it took me nearly 30 minutes to check-in my luggage. It took a little longer than I thought!
Santa Claus on a sled being pulled by magical flying reindeers, was flying over our heads. And polar bears were lying on a baggage turntable! You can wait for your departure in an enjoyable atmosphere.
In an airport Kiosk, there were lots of meat products made from reindeer and elk!

"ICEMAN HOT BEEF JERKY". What a funny name!
It was snowing hard like a snowstorm from early morning. So, most flights in the early morning were delayed due to bad weather. My flight was also an hour and a half late.
right: After I boarded the airplane, they were still spraying the wings with deicer....
There was a snow covered plain below my eyes on my way to Helsinki. It stretched on as far as I could see and there were also lots of lakes. It was estimated that there were hundreds of thousands of lakes in Finland!
