Levi to Rovaniemi
I got on a bus at 9:40a.m and I headed for Rovaniemi, which was the provincial capital of Lapland.
I often saw bus stops on the side of the road, but usually it didn't look like there were houses around them. I wondered how people went to the bus stops.... And most of bus stops weren't covered with a roof and they were just bus signposts like this photo. It looked tough to wait for a bus in such a lonely place. Just the thought of it made me cold!
right:
On the way to Rovaniemi, a bus driver got off and he delivered something to the hotel. It was interesting.
Rovaniemi was 2-hours and a half drive from Levi.
There was nothing to see without snow-covered ground, trees and rivers from the bus windows. There were a few houses along the road and I got a little worried about what would happen if a vehicle broke down on the way between towns. If cell-phones were out of range, we must be in big trouble!
The weather was warm, so the streets were muddy with a little bit of rain. I didn't know what bus stop I should get off at, in Rovaniemi so I got off the bus by guess work.
It was really hard to walk along the muddy street with my suitcase while looking for my accommodation.
