There were 4 people in my host family. Tiia was a cheerful girl and she taught me lots of Finnish words. However, I was too old to learn a new language. I really hope that Tiia can be a good Japanese speaker in the future!

The temperature wasn't so low. The lake didn't freeze completely and there wasn't much snow around there. The white stuff was more like frost than snow. But the air was biting cold.

Why were clothes hanging out in such a frosty winter day....

Tiia and her grandfather showed me around their house and we walked around the forest.

Grandfather's dog. He ran freely without a leash in the forest and he really looked happy.

The ground was covered with green moss and, not falling leaves. So it was really soft under foot and I felt like I was walking on a squashy cushion.
