Stall selling stir-fried fish called "muikku" in finnish
I heard that muikku was found in lakes and rivers in northern Europe and it was a popular fish in Finland. Probably, it was vendace.

I was supposed to join an ice fishing tour during my stay at Rovaniemi. But, this winter came late and so the ice of the lake was not thick enough to go fishing. Because of this, my tour booking was canceled. I was supposed to catch these fishes by myself.

center:
It was seasoned with olive(?) oil, salt and pepper. I thought it would go well with a beer.

right:
It was a terrible cold day, -10 degrees Celsius. So it was getting colder every moment while walking on the way back to my accommodation.

Rovaniemi Church
Most of Rovaniemi was destroyed by the German army in the Lapland war, during world war II, and the rebuilding of the town began in 1946.
A original church was destroyed by the war in 1944 and this was rebuilt in 1950. One of the features of the church was a huge fresco behind the altar. It was called "the source of life" and it was one of the biggest frescos in Nordic countries. And another feature was a 45-tonne scale organ over the entrance.

Multipurpose public hall, Lappia-talo
Alvar Aalto, who was a famous Finnish architect, designed several public buildings. This building was one of his works in Rovaniemi.

Price board of a petrol station
I wasn't sure if the price was high or not, but maybe it must be expensive also in Finland.

Guess what Minori was doing!
When I drank beer with Minori in a pub, she got interested in a game machine in the corner of the room. She told me that she had been interested in it for several days. So she made up her mind to try it and she inserted coins into the machine. ...But it was just a change machine!!! Because she had a plan to go back to Japan within a couple of days, she always tried to spen all of her change. As a result she got lots of change.... She left the pub with great disappointment!
