Finnish newspaper
As you can see, Finnish was quite different from English. I couldn't even imagine what was being talked about.

Interesting weather map on the newspaper. When I see the weather map of Japan, I can interpret it. But I couldn't tell what the weather forcast would be from now on. I was unfamiliar with this part of the world....
center, right:
According to the weather forcast, the temperature wasn't low throughout many parts of Finland. It was between about -2 degrees and +2 degrees. But I always felt it was much colder than the temperature.
Sports pages on the newspaper
Articles about winter sports
took lots of space. All I saw on the pages were articles about winter sports, and they would be unfamiliar to most Japanese.
Finnish Hirvi warning sign
Perhapes, hirvi meant moose or elk in Finnish. I heard it was a very popular sign in Nordic countries. Hirvi was a big animal so if you hit a hirvi, it could cause a serious accident.
Tiny town
I went to a tiny town near the house with my host mother. There was a few local shops, a bank and a church however it was an extremely small town!
