There weren't any long courses on this slope. However, a new chair-lift was put in there this winter so I liked this slope. Looking towards the town, there were frozen lakes and frozen forests stretching away.
Horizont
was a restaurant near the end of the 6-chair-lift. "Avoinna Klo 10-20", it was the first Finnish phrase I learned. It means "Open 10-20". It was quite different from English.
Karhu, it was one of the Finnish beer brands. It tasted a little bit sweeter than regular beers.
right:
Beer glass with a scale from 0.33L to 0.5L. I was always served this type of glass at bars. When I ordered a small size of beer, I was served a glass half-full with beer. It looked like a someone's half-finished drink and I didn't like it. I didn't understand why they didn't use a small glass!
The temperature inside was about 20 degrees and it was warm enough to have a break. Because of its comfortable temperature, I could hardly walk out the door to go skiing again.
It was getting dark outside before 3p.m. and it seemed the temperature was dropping every minute. As temperature dropped, I felt my knees shivering with cold. When I checked my thermometer, it indicated -16 degrees!
Everything was frozen with the terrible cold. My disposable contact lenses, which I had gone skiing with in my pocket, completely froze up!
