The last day of my stay at Queenstown
It was a cloudy day. I saw thick gray clouds over the mountain range from the window at my lodge. On this day there were no engine sounds of planes flying over. I was concerned that my flight might have been canceled due to bad weather. My incoming flight from Cristchurch to Queenstown was delayed due to similar bad weather. When I arrived at the airport in plenty of time for myflight, it had been already canceled. Just as I had thought! As I was waiting for an anouncement about another flight, the clouds cleared and I was able to board my flight.

People said that the morning flights were unpredictable due to the weather. Most flights on that day were canceled, because Queenstown airport is surrounded by mountains. I heard that it was near impossible for pilots to take off and touch down without a clear view of the runway even if they had rador. So small type propeller planes were easier than jet aircraft to take off and land.

Christchurch Airport
I couldn't see anything from the window because of the thick cloud unit. It was a bumpy 1 hour flight but I made it and arrived in Christchurch. My host father and host dog picked me up at the airport.
