West Arm
After a 1 hour cruise, we got off the ship at West Arm. We got on the bus that went over the mountain path and we arrived at the pier at last.
center: Doubtful sound and the view from the top of the peak.
right: He was sitting next to my seat on the bus. I forgot where he came from....
A tour boat on Doubtful Sound Cruise
It was a bigger boat than the Lake Manapori boat. We went on a cruise from here.
Our cruise through Doubtful Sound
Captain James Cook sighted the entrance to Doubtful Sound from the Tasman Sea on his first trip to New Zealand in 1770. He didn't enter the fiord because he was doubtful of his exit back to the sea. He called the place Doubtful Harbor. But the weather was lovely and fine on the day. There was no doubtful mood in Doubtful Sound!
Dolphins There were a few dolphins, which were swiming before our eyes. I also saw some penguins.
