Trinkhalle
Is a tourist attraction. It was built as a place to drink hot spring water for treatment, and even today healing spring water is served to visitors for free. Today, the building is also used as a tourist information office, a ticketing agency ,a cafe and a souvenir shop.
The building construction began in 1839 and it was completed in 1942. It is surrounded by pleasant gardens and it is a beautiful building. There are 14 frescoes showing local legends of Wuerttemberg.
Here is the old town center. There are lots of nice buildings and there was a good mix of old and new architecture.
Cigarette vending machine. Its appearance, instructions, the price, everything was really different from the machine in Japan. Particularly, I was surprised at the expensive prices!
There were lots of maze-like alleys all around the old town. If you turn out into a narrow alley from the main shopping street, you can find a lot more interesting experiences.
There is a mysterious atmosphere, as if I wondered into another world, and it was more interested than just taking a stroll on the shopping street. Although, if you wind along a maze of narrow paths without discretion you could easily get lost, like me. Actually, I was lost on way back to my hotel in the hail storms and I had a terrible time!!
