Zugspitzbahn(Zugspitz mountain railway)
The terminal of the cogwheel train(Zugspitzbahn) is beside the main train station

The cogwheel train travels along the valley and it takes you up to the top of the Zugspitze mountain. It takes about 75 minutes to get there and the cost is 36 Euro for a round-trip ticket.

The train have overhead monitors and it provides useful information about the next stop. Everything was clean and tidy. The train was wonderful.

In 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen was the site of the Winter Olympic Games. Traditionally, winter sports like a ski jumping is very popular and a variety of Ski World Cup Races are also held here. The 2011 Alpine World Ski Championships will be held there!

Unfortunately, the day that I planned to visit the Zugspitze was bad weather and the top of the mountains were covered with fogs.

After 20 minutes ride, the train was getting closer to the rugged mountains. The top of the mountains were still covered by clouds which hung low.
right: All of a sudden, the overhead monitors's screen froze up. I got very disappointed with the poor service....
