The old town of Rothenburg is known for its beautiful medieval town and all the signs are also completely in harmony with the town.

Pretzel-shaped sign
Pretzel is a bread of medieval European origin and it has the shape of a three looped knot.

Pretzel-shaped sign
A delicious-looking pretzel!

Pretzel-shaped sign

Pretzel-shaped sign
It looks that all of bakery's signs in Rothenburg features a picture of pretzel. It is well-designed advertisement.

Mug-shaped sign
I'm not sure what it mean and what is the sign for....

Mug-shaped sign
This is a sign of a pharmacy. The mug is designed with "The rod of Asclepius".
"The rod of Asclepius", Asclepius is the god of medicine in ancient Greek mythology, it consists of a snake entwined around it and it is well-known as a symbol of medical science. A symbol of The World Health Organization(WHO) is also designed with "The rod of Asclepius".

Water pitcher-shaped sign(?)
It is my understanding that it is a sign of a gasthof.

Wine glass-shaped sign
Of course, this is a sign of a wine bar! I thought it was designed to match it's feature.
