After looking around the castle, we walked downhill heading to downtown area. On the way to downtown, we met the middle-aged korean man again. What a small town!
Restaurant,"Zum Weissen Schwan(the white Swan)"
We found a good pub along the main street and we took a break there for a while. I heard that the pub offered 101 different types of German and international beer also available. However, I don't recommend you try them all in one visit!!
We shared these several local cuisine. I was really surprised to find out that Kan-san carrying Gochujang paste all the time! Gochujang is one of the most popular Korean seasoned paste. It can make any kind of food taste Korean-style easily.
We ordered local beer around Heidelberg and we were served with this beer, "Heidelberger 1603". It's written on the glass that "Pilsener", probably it was pilsner beer....
After we ordered some food, we found there was a Korean restaurant across the street. I thought if we found first that restaurant we'll choose it!
Karl-Theodor Bruecke
left: View of the castle from the Karl-Theodor Bruecke. It is a popular symbol of the Heidelberg and it is well-known as the old bridge.
center, right: There is a "Bridge Monkey" at the foot of the bridge. The unique sculpture was made in 1977 by a local artist. The monkey holds a round mirror in his left hand with a funny smile on his face, and there is also a small mouse next to it.
Most of the tourists do was to wear the monkey's mask and take a picture. "We are typical tourists!" However, it is quite embarrassing to do it....
Thai restaurant
I said goodbye to my Korean friends and I went to a Thai restaurant for dinner. It tastes wonderful as I expected. By the way, whenever I visited a Thai restaurant abroad, Thai staff member is available. They are friendly and served a guest politely. I really loved Thai restaurant and their hospitality.
I drank "Bitburger". It was a well-known beer in Europe and it was a local beer in the west part of Germany. It tastes hoppy and it is a mild beer. I think it will match everything.
