Baden-Baden to Strasbourg
After some time in Sasbachwalden, we headed for Strasbourg, it's the principal city of the Alsace region in northeastern France.
center, right: As expected of a major French car brand, two Peugeot went side by side before our eyes!

An old part of the city which is surrounded by the Ill River have been designated as a World Heritage Site for its beautiful historic buildings. It was small enough to walk around and it was a nice place to visit.

The Barrage Vauban
Was a defensive dam built on the river around 1690. It's one of the most famous landmarks in the city.

The spire in the background is the most famous building "The Cathedral Notre-Dame in Strasbourg". We headed for the cathedral.

There are many canals around the city and the boat trip is a popular tourist attraction in summer.

From the boats which go arround the river, you can see the old town called "Petite France" with its beautiful buildings reflected in the water and you can see also the modern district.
The old town "Petite France" has lots of canals and there were many closely packed traditional black and white timber-framed buildings. Strasbourg was a part of Germany at one time and so the architecture looked very similar to medieval half-timbered buildings in German style.

Luckily, we could see a movable bridge moving by chance!
